Dying to Obey
May 15, 2012 By ish Leave a Comment
I don’t know how many attempts I had before I finally composed myself to write this blog. It’s been months since I last wrote one. A lot has happened to me; experienced chastening and discipline from the Lord. I sunk into deep loneliness without even knowing how to help myself. Like most of you, I’ve come to the point wherein I did not know why God had to ask and remove certain things away from me. Why do people have to go? Do I really have to go through this alone? Just when everything seemed to be fine, why do You have to make me do this?

My Mom: Educator, Intercessor, and Extraordinary Woman

Perhaps you’ve heard of me as a poet, youth leader, writer/blogger, host, and activist. Some of you may already know that I’m scheduled for graduation from college this Tuesday at the age of 16 as a Cum Laude and with other awards.
But this blog is not about me. I’m going to tell you about my mother.
She was a CPA and has been a professor at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines back in the 70’s. She was the first person who encouraged me to write poetry, and in early 2010, I was the number one most popular Filipino poet in a website www.poemhunter.com and I was number 37 around the world over more than 20,000 poets.

Our country is facing a lot of issues, and we believe that only God’s power can protect us from any threat. We are living in a time, in a season where we are standing in a forked road. It’s either we go on our lives and proceed to the usual thing we do or we stand united to fulfill the very purpose God wants us to be — a great country!

Could it be Angels?

Then lot of “stars” began to show up. They were like a huge army in sky. It’s like the whole galaxy was there. And this time, I am not exaggerating. But they are not just stars. They were angels. I know it was hard to believe at first but I was there. I was seeing them. Some of them were moving. Some were like going around in circles. Others were dancing. It couldn’t be a jet or an airplane. Machines don’t dance around. Planets don’t dance around.
There were people with us who have been blessed seeing angels a few steps away as if they were in front of them. My mother saw a big one and she saw a sash of fire on one of the angels in the sky. I saw a cloud that shaped exactly like a dove or an eagle spreading its wings. It was somehow bright. The color of the light is between red and gold. I could still see the picture in my mind. It felt like God sent them to assure us that He is watching over us and He knows what just happened back in the camp site.

American Idol Falls Down on His Knees

Down on his knees, looking like a rock star as always, raised his hands up high, after getting voted off last thursday night in American Idol season 11. Colton Dixon, a guy who sang ‘September’ touched me because he translated a very fun and upbeat song to a dramatic and heart-warming song.

Do I Still Tremble In Your Presence? (a sonnet)
April 16, 2012 By obed Leave a Comment
This poem came to me the time I asked myself, “Do I still respect God?” I mean, if I do, then do I still honor Him by meditating His words day and night? Or is my testimony obviously seen through my actions?
